About Matt

Matt currently lives in Washington state with his wife, Susan and two children. He works as the Associate Pastor at Kirkland SDA Church. They love to spend time in the mountains any way they can: camping, skiing, hiking or just hangin out with the kids. Susan is a Physician’s Assistant. They met in Lincoln, Nebraska when they were students at Union College.

Matt's Thoughts on Worship

I’m learning more about what it means to live a life of worship. I do believe we were “created to worship” and that is so much more than just music. Everything that we do God is interested in… our families, our health, our recovery, our peace… He “delights” in every aspect of our experience.

When we understand this, it requires us to ask ourselves “am I giving every room of my house to God?” I believe that wherever we go God is there, we are unable to not be in His presence. He is drawing us, and profoundly cares for us and longs to bring healing to every part of our lives. When we realize His love for us, and how intimately He wants to be a part of our lives… our only response is to worship. That means it affects our attitude, our posture and the words we speak.

A portion of my personal mission statement says “I will testify of God in music and example for the purpose of being part of a mighty army of fully committed followers of Christ”. My prayer for you today… whoever you are, is that you will experience God in a real way. That you would come to understand he wants nothing more than to see you experience His love, and to turn your heart to Him in worship.
